“The illustrator of a series” — session 03
Context: the author brought a complete system prompt for the header images, and a recurring cast with one subject per article. It gave the series its visual identity: a small cleaner fish in a glass sphere whose wall thickens from piece to piece. Journal: session 03.
The prompt is kept verbatim in the repository, so here it is only summarized:
- Style: flat, mid-century-modern vector illustration with a risograph grain; no outlines, gradients or 3D.
- World: a calm, deep sea with shafts of light, kelp, fan corals and bubbles. The mood is “wonder, not drama”.
- Palette: plum-navy, teals, turquoise, cerulean, seafoam, cream; coral and orange as accents only.
- Concepts as metaphors: never draw computers, screens, code or diagrams, and never any text.
- Cast: the cleaner (the agent), the sphere (the sandbox), the whale (the cloud, only in 00 and 06), the moon (the critic, only in 05).

Why it matters: the images now carry the same argument as the articles. The sandbox goes from a formality to the thing that makes the agent safe, and you can see it in the glass.
